Cynic the Bismarck existed from New Years Eve 1984 until October 1987. In their lifetime nothing was released, a few demos were recorded and a few gigs played. With a bit more motivation something could have been made of it, but things always got in the way>

This album is made up of the best of those demos and two live recordings, which have been tidied up a bit; although one of the live recordings was so poor that it defied a serious clean up. It was the only time that song was performed by the original version, so had to be included.

There was one other song, which was a hand-over from singer John Kertland's previous band, but they lyrics were a bit naive and by today's standards questionable, so it has not been included, and will not be made available in the future.

There is an alternative version of the album possible. In 1992/3 updated versions were being prepared, but John was unable to record vocals, so they only exist with guide vocals by keyboard/electronics player Dave Gate. But that's a different project . . .
